- 독일의 하드록 , 헤비메탈 밴드

- 서독 하노버에서 태어난 루돌프 솅커( Rudolf Schenker )와 마이클 솅커( Michael Schenker )형제가 주축이 되어 1965년에 결성

- 루돌프 솅커는 창립 멤버이자 리더(리듬 기타)이며, 클라우스 마이네(보컬), 마티아스 얍스(리드기타) 이회 베이스는 가끔이며 드럼은 자주 바뀌는 편으로 알려짐.

- 클라우스 마이네는 특유의 클래시컬하면서도 강한 미성으로 스콜피온스 고유의 감성을 성공시킨 아티스트입니다. 

  독일 출생이지만 영어를 사용함으로써 세계적인 락 밴드가 되는 데 중요한 포인트가 됐을 것입니다.

 

- 스콜피온스는 한 때 해체 선언을 한 적이 있습니다만, 그때 클라우스 마이네는 이렇게 얘기했습니다.

  '음악과 우리의 팬들 공연에서 얻는 희열을 놓칠 수 없습니다. 아직 창의력과 에너지가 살아있기 때문에 음악을 그만 둘 수 없습니다. ' 라고 얘기했고 이후 쭉 활동을 이어갔다고 합니다.

베를린 필하모니 오케스트라 등과 협연으로 락밴드와 오케스트라 최고의 음반 'moment of glory' 2000년 하노버 엑스포 주제곡으로 쓰기도 했답니다.

현존하는 크로스오버 앨범 중 최고라는 평가를 받고 있답니다.
